On September 2010 the Province of Prato will host the first edition of Degustando Prato, a festival dedicated to the discovery of tastes and typical dishes of Prato traditional cuisine.
Throughout the month, the event will offer exquisite typical menus in restaurants and fascinating wine tours in estates scattered all over the province territory, with visits to cultivations and local wine tastings. Degustando Prato is an extraordinary occasion to explore Prato's tastes, colours and fragrances and enjoy its gastronomic excellencies at a very special price!

The special Degustando Prato menus have been created with particular attention to local gastronomic traditions: for the occasion, the main dishes will include the most typical Prato and Tuscan cuisine, as well as quality innovation based on local products. There will be appetizers, snacks, salami, charcoal-grilled meat, the traditional Prato-style celeries and many other delicacies. The menus will be rich and varied and will easily satisfy any palate: even vegetarian people will find a specific menu ready for them. The menu price will be fixed and inclusive of service, cover charge and beverages, among which a fine selection of local wines.
In Estates
Don't miss the wonderful wine tours of Degustando Prato! Immersed in the beauty and the colors of Prato countryside in September, you will be able to walk through vineyards and olive groves together with an expert, who will illustrate in detail the history and features of the local cultivations and soils, as well as the production phases and the organoleptic properties of wines. It is a unique occasion to plunge into nature and find out the special qualities of one of the finest products in Tuscany. It will also be possible to watch the production and drying process of the Carmignano fig. After each guided tour, a wine tasting will follow, accompanied by snacks and typical products such as cheese, salumi (hams and other kinds of cold meat), bruschettas, crostini and many more.
